Here’s another fun behind the scenes video from a test shoot I did on the 26th of Feb!

I love working with talented creatives & this shoot had many amazing people on deck.

I did all the makeup for the shoot- plus the long wavy hair do for the amazingly beautiful model named Chung. Please note- I did not do hair for the girls- besides that one look on Chung- the rest of the hair was done by Christopher at Lunatic Fringe salon.

THE POWER OF A MAKEUP ARTIST

I don’t think most people know how much work goes into a photo shoot. I mean, how hard is it to snap a photo, right? AND wow, that person is so perfect, I wish I looked like that!

See… that’s where you are mistaken! SOOOO much goes into a photo shoot- even smaller budget photo shoots. AND it’s my job as the makeup/ hair artist to make you believe the subject in the photo looks perfect & always has! ha!

I’m including two super recent shoots that were low key- to give you an example of what a makeup artist can bring to a shoot.

1. EC MAGAZINE

A lifeway teen magazine cover spread I work on every month. I love my team for this gig & every month is different based on the model we are given. This month I had a young girl who got her hair cut at Great Clips & had the most horrible acne. I gave her a new haircut, worked on her brows, airbrush foundation for full coverage with a natural beauty makeup look & added some body to her hair. She looks like a different person!

2. ARTIST ASHLYN M.

Last week, a budding pop country artist came to me & the ever so talented photographer Eric Anderson. She needed new photos for everything & was tired of looking too “pageant like”. She had TONS of hair, so I thinned it out & gave her a new cut, waved it out with a curling wand, reshaped her brows, airbrushed her foundation & did a smokey eye dramatic makeup look. A star is born!
